Hi Mike,

I won't be able to read the background information in detail until Friday. But nevertheless let's have a talk on Friday and see if there are any differences in general. Even if I don't think so you never know ;o)

There is no new background reading in terms of AG MFT. If you are familiar with the "Grundidee" (Basic Idea or Vision) of AG MFT (http://wiki.piratenpartei.de/AG_Meinungsfindungstool/Ergebnisse/DieGrundidee) and have had a look on the Big Picture (http://wiki.piratenpartei.de/wiki/images/7/72/MFT_BigPicture_v01.jpg) and the Discussion System Overview (http://wiki.piratenpartei.de/wiki/images/3/37/DiscussionSystem-Overview.jpg) you are well prepared ;o)

Cheers
Marc

Hi Mark,

To answer your question, I'm interested in maintaining a general
freedom of movement and association across position forming (primary
voting) facilities. We seem to agree on this. By "de-facto
monopoly", I only mean the lack of such freedom. Second, I'm
interested in maintaining my own personal freedom to work on whichever
primary technology seems to me the most promising. These two freedoms
(the general and the personal) are tightly interconnected, of course.
(I'll reply to Alex shortly.)

I agree that we should try to identify conflicts of interest before
attempting to work together. We'll always have differences, of
course, but hopefully no serious conflicts within the scope of our
joint development work. But this is something we need to talk about.

Unfortunately I don't have time now to go through your email and
Alex's reply to put my 2ct there.

The counter-monopoly document is only background reading for our talk.
If you're unable to read it in time, please let me know, and we can
re-schedule our talk.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to run TeamViewer on my Mumble box.
Just Mumble and a plain web browser. If there's any background
reading for me, please send the links in advance.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Great. Do you have TeamViewer installed by any chance?
http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/

It's free for private use and available for Windows, Linux and Mac. With
this we would have the chance of ad hoc desktop sharing, if needed.

Btw. isn't it true what Alex said, that you are not interested in
eliminating the network effect in general, but "only" against establishing a
monopoly?!

At least, I think, this is true for AG MFT (incl. me). I always interpreted
your arguments in the junction of "network effect" AND "monopoly". This is
what you are talking about, right?

Unfortunately I don't have time now to go through your email and Alex's
reply to put my 2ct there.

More on Friday.

Cheers
marc
