Sehr geehrter Herr Spies,   wir möchten Sie herzlich zu einer ganz besonderen Ausstellungseröffnung einladen: "Take Me by the Hand" - Discussion and exhibition on the Life of Syrian child refugees in Lebanon Donnerstag, 16. Januar 2020, 19 – 21 Uhr Atrium der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit, Karl-Marx-Str. 2, Potsdam.   Die Ausstellung "Take Me by the Hand" der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit und unserem Partner "Mishwar" zeigt den Alltag geflüchteter Kinder im Lager Tel Abbas im libanesischen Akkar. Gemeinsam haben wir mehrere Monate mit Kindern gearbeitet und ihnen die Möglichkeit gegeben, auf verschiedenen Ebenen ihre Geschichten zu erzählen. Entstanden sind viele faszinierende Zeugnisse voller Kreativität, Hoffnung und Lebensfreude. Die interaktive und in großen Teilen digital unterstützte Ausstellung zeigt erstmals in Deutschland die im Rahmen die Projekts entstandenen Fotos, Videos, Kurzfilme, Bilder und Basteleien und gibt einen einmaligen Blick in die Gefühlswelt der Kinder. In der englischsprachigen Diskussion wollen wir mit den Machern der Ausstellung über die Menschen und ihr Leben in den Flüchtlingslagern rund um Syrien sprechen. Wie steht es um die Sicherheit von Frauen und Kindern? Gibt es Bildungsangebote für Kinder? Auf welchen Wegen können westliche Institutionen die Menschen vor Ort unterstützen? Bitte bringen Sie Ihr Smartphone oder Tablet mit, wenn möglich mit Kopfhörern, um unsere digitalen Angebote nutzen zu können. Die Veranstaltung findet in englischer Sprache statt.

  Ihr Team vom Länderbüro Berlin-Brandenburg der Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit  ++++++++++   In April 2019, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom's office for Lebanon and Syria co-organized an art exhibition together with the NGO "Mishwar" in Beirut, Lebanon. The exhibition, which showcased the original art, photography, music and furniture created by Syrian refugee youth, left a heartfelt and moving impact on all who received the opportunity to experience it. Children literally took guests by their hand and showed and explained their art to them, which told their stories of war, leaving home, learning to adjust, and new beginnings. On this account, it is our aim to recreate the “Take Me By the Hand” experience for you – not primarily to garner sympathy for the harsh realities of life as child refugees, but rather to show the talent and potential displayed by refugee youth when they are given the chance.  Through this exhibition, we invite you to experience a positive and inspiring display which points to potential solutions to some of Lebanon (and the world’s) most intractable issues. May this experience take you by the hand and by the heart. Marielle Marktanner, is the former Consultant to FNF Lebanon and Syria. She completed two internships with FNF before becoming the Regional Community Manager at FNF Middle East and North Africa (MENA).   Tony Collins, founded Mishwar NGO, an organization dedicated providing support for refugee communities by launching creative projects led by the communities.   Moderation: Denise Dittrich, Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit, Sub-Saharan Africa and MENA Unit   20:30 Exhibition Opening and Small Reception Firas Itani is the Videographer and Curator of the "Take Me by the Hand" Exhibition.
