-------- Original-Nachricht -------- Betreff: [pp-eu] Results! Datum: Fri, 23 May 2014 04:32:20 +0200 Von: Rogier Huurman <rogier AT piratenpartij.nl> Antwort an: EU Election coordination group <pp-eu AT lists.pp-international.net> An: EU Election coordination group <pp-eu AT lists.pp-international.net>

Elections are over in NL and UK, here are some preliminary results from NL:

PPNL will not gain a seat. According to the exit poll from state media we gained 0,7%, results from the crowdsourced counting* look more like 1,1%. Either way, 3,8% was needed.

*crowdsourced counting? Yes, as soon as Brussels forbid our government from publicising any results before Sunday, the biggest blog, GeenStijl, launched an effort to hear the results being read aloud in every polling station after counting, which is required by law. We in the Pirate Party had the same idea, but could not execute it fast enough. GeenStijl did marvelously well and are now the most trusted source on election results until Sunday. Their result:

- D66 (ALDE): 5
- CDA (EPP): 4 (maybe 3)
- PVV (europhobic): 3 (maybe 4)
- PvdA (PES): 3
- VVD (ALDE): 3
- SP (EUL): 3 (or 2)
- CU/SGP (ECR): 2
- GL (Greens): 2
- PvdD (probably Greens): 1
- 50+ (?): 0 (or 1)
Total: 26

Of these parties, the more internet-friendly are GL, PvdD, D66 and PvdA, although the last two seem to support TTIP. So 11 out of 26 kind of internet-friendly.

Up to you, UK!

Rogier Huurman, a very much not elected candidate from NL
