Title: AW: [PP-EU.programme] Discussion: [international] Re: Invitation to organize the very first international Pirate Party Politics conference

Hi there,

I also want to thank you for organising an international conference in Maastricht. As Justus already wrote, the German GA at that week-end would make it impossible for me to come, so I would prefer it, if you could settle on a different date.

As we German Pirates also need to finish the program for the EU election 2014 until the start of December, I'd suggest that we'd rather work on how to work together to bring our Common Programme into existence and into the hearts and minds of the European people. We could build up European action and work groups on European topics like PRISM and TEMPORA, share contact details and information about campaigning Pirates and work on common campaigns.

But we could also have workshops and lectures on Pirate politics, deeping our common political understanding.

Is there already a general plan about the topics of the Conference?

If you cannot or would not change the date, I hereby suggest to find a time and place for an additional conference, perhaps sometime in January, to work on the issues I mentioned above.

I would be very glad, if the Dutch Pirates would join us there, too.

Best regards,

Martina

Hello all,

I would like to thank PPNL to start this initiative. International cooperation is very important for the Pirate movement and any initiative to support this is just awesome! So it's great to see PPNL become active again in this area. This weekend there is the PPEU program group meeting in Athens. I doubt if all work to towards a joined EU program will be done after this conference. I would like to propose to continue the work on the proposed conference in the Netherlands. Setting the date for the Maastricht conference would maybe be better a little later than in the proposal. Maybe 14/15 dec. This would allow enough time between the two events to prepare the later. And it would be darn right cool that the Pirates would have their own Maastricht treaty on how the EU should work.

Regards,
Koen De Voegt

hello everyone,

We'd like to propose a new date to meet up with a group of
international Pirate-party members in Maastricht. The idea for the
last meet, to help spark debate around political matters, we think
should remain unchanged. An agenda for the weekend and organisational
specifications can be elaborated on in the working document for the
cancelled meet:
http://piratepad.be/p/PiratePartyPolitics_conference

For now we made a (provisional) reservation at 'the Landhuis', an open
community squad in Maastricht that that can hold up to around 60
people. We reserved the place for saturday the 30th of november and
sunday the first of december. We can either use one or both days. We
added a date-choice at the top of the pad, either that and/or this
mailing (reply all) might be used to see which date is preferred by
everyone. As for NL, either day or both days are alright with us.

We'd like to propose that all of us send out invitations through all
used communications channels. In that way, everybody who might like to
join, has the opportunity to reserve a place. In that way, we have the
best guarantee that the meet remains open.

For information about the location:
http://hetlandhuis.org/wordpress/172-2/  (the site is in dutch)

please email us if you have any questions, comments, requests:
henk.heslinga AT piratenpartij.nl or qualia AT piratenpartij.nl (Nienke Hoekstra)

We hope to be looking forward to an open, experimental and succesful meet,

Henk Heslinga  (general organisation for NL)
Nienke Hoekstra (local facilitation Maastricht; location, meals,
sleepover, etc.)
