*Bringt die Themen ***Landwirtschaft und Ernährungssouveränität**
*zum Klimacamp im Rheinland **(19.-29.08.2016)*
Wie im vergangenen Jahr wollen wir wieder Klima- und
Landwirtschaftsfragen verknüpfen - macht mit!


**Kurz: Warum dieser Aufruf?*
Mit steigenden Durchschnittstemperaturen, zunehmenden
Extremwetterereignissen, wie Stürmen, Überschwemmungen und langen
Trockenzeiten, setzt der Klimawandel der Landwirtschaft weltweit zu.
Gleichzeitig trägt die industrialisierte Landwirtschaft erheblich zur
Erderwärmung und dem Verlust fruchtbarer Böden bei. Sie ist für etwa ein
Drittel der weltweit ausgestoßenen Treibhausgase verantwortlich. Die
Folgen fallen auch auf die Bäuer_innen zurück.
Daher ist es wichtig die Themen Klimawandel und Landwirtschaft stärker
zusammen zu denken -- Gruppen und Menschen zu vernetzen und gemeinsam
Widerstand zu leisten. Dies soll passieren auf dem diesjährigen
Klimacamp im Rheinland.
Wie das aussehen kann liegt an uns allen...
*Es könnte wie im vergangenen Jahr zum Beispiel wieder ein eigenes
Landwirtschaftszelt mit Workshops,**
**Vorträge, Thementagen und Gruppentreffen geben, mit Vernetzung und
kreative Aktionen. **
**Auch in diesem Jahr könnte es Plattform für Gruppen- und
Planungstreffen sein (z.B. von Reclaim the Fields, Nyéléni, La Via**
**Campesina...) oder sich ausweiten zu einem Landwirtschaftsbarrio
(themenspezifischer "Stadtteil" in der "Zeltstadt").**

Dafür braucht es nur noch Menschen, Gruppen oder Einzelpersonen, die
Lust haben, sich**
**einzubringen, zu organisieren und teilzuhaben.**

**Was ist das Klimacamp und warum findet es statt*
Inspiriert durch die Klimabewegung in England finden in Deutschland seit
2008 Klimacamps statt. Sie basieren auf den vier Säulen Vernetzung,
Bildung, Alternatives Leben und Widerstand. Im rheinischen
Braunkohlerevier findet in diesem Jahr zum 7. Mal das Klimacamp statt.
Mit seinen drei Tagebauen und fünf Kraftwerken ist das rheinische
Braunkohlerevier Europas größte CO2 Quelle. Weltweit steigen die CO2
Emissionen trotz noch so vieler Klimagipfel und Lippenbekenntnissen der
herrschenden Politiker_innen - Wir setzen uns selbst für das Klima ein!
Den Braunkohleabbau zu stoppen ist ein wichtiges Ziel auf dem Weg zu
einer sozial-ökologischen Energiewende und für die Umsetzung der Idee der
Ernährungssouveränität.

**Verortung des Klimacamps im transnationalen Widerstand*
Die  Zeit drängt und wir müssen dringend gegen den Klimawandel aktiv
werden.  Deshalb schreiten selbst zur Tat. Ein breites
transnationales Netzwerk von aktiven Einzelpersonen, Gruppen und
Organisationen hat sich gesponnen, aus dem heraus vielfältige Aktionen,
Camps, Radtouren und Konferenzen organisiert werden - so auch das
*Klimacamp im Rheinland (19.-29.08.2016)*. Ebenfalls wird dort wieder die
*Degrowth Sommer School* statt finden*(19.-23.08.2016)* statt.
Klimacamp und Sommerschule haben zusammen das Thema "Skills for System
Change".
Vom *24.- 29.08 ist das Aktionslabor* zu Gast auf dem Camp.

***Landwirtschaft im Rheinland - Landwirtschaft und Klima*
Im Rheinland werden die Zusammenhänge der Themen Klima, Extraktivismus
und Landwirtschaft schnell ersichtilich. So wird durch den
Extraktivismus im Rheinland (Kohleabbau) nicht nur das Klima maßgeblich
zerstört, sondern auch viele hundert Hecktar bester Löss-Boden.
Gleichzeitig wird in der Klima-Debatte bisher zu wenig beachtet, dass
der Klimawandel lokal viel massiver zuschlägt, wenn er auf degradierte
Böden trifft, im Vergleich zu Böden die eine gute Fähigkeit zum
Speichern von Wasser haben und die viel Vegetation hervorbringen.
Degradierte Böden wiederum sind an vielen Orten des globalen Südens
direkte Auswirkungen einer kolonialen, extraktivistischen
Landwirtschaft. Zu guter Letzt ist die extraktivistische Landwirtschaft
selber ein massiver Verursacher von CO2 und anderen Klimagasen.
Die Verknüpfung von den Themen Klima und Landwirtschaft erscheint uns
und vielen anderen sehr sinnvoll!

Wer hat Lust zusammen mit anderen die Themen Landwirtschaft und
Ernährungssouveränität aufs Klimacamp zu bringen und das im Vorfeld zu
organisieren?
Je nachdem wie viel Interesse besteht, ob sich mehr Menschen in die
Organisation einbringen und ob noch weitere Ideen dazukommen - all das
wird maßgeblich beeinflussen, wie stark die Themen Landwirtschaft und
Ernährungssouveränität und Klimawandel auf dem Klimacamp und darüber
hinaus zusammen kommen.

Bis jetzt gibt es noch keine Orga-Gruppe.

*Bring agriculture to the climate camp in the rhineland**

*Briefly -- why this call?*
Rising average temperatures, an increasing number of extreme weather
phenomenons like storms, floods and long periods of drought -- climate
change is affecting agriculture globally. At the same time industrial
farming makes a considerable contribution to global warming and the loss
of fertile ground. It is responsible for about a third of globally
emitted greenhouse gases. The consequences also affect the farmers.
That's why it is important to think of the topics of climate change and
agriculture as tied, to link groups and people and and resist together.
That is what's supposed to happen at this years climate camp in the
Rhineland area.
What that is going to look like is up to all of us...
It could be like last year with a agriculture tent or different.
There could be a tent or a barrio specifically for agriculture,
workshops, talks, discussions, group meetings (e.g. by Reclaim the
Fields, Nyéléni, La Via Campesina...), networking and creative actions.
For all that we just need people, groups or individuals, that would like
to participate and organise.
Who wants to join??


*What is the climate camp and why is it taking place?*
Inspired by the climate movement in the UK, Germany has had climate
camps since 2008. They are based upon the four pillars of networking,
education, alternative life and resistance. The climate camp in the
Rhineland coal field is taking place for the seventh time this year.
The three mines and five power plants make the Rhineland coal field the
biggest CO2-emittant in all of Europe. Despite all climate summits and
promises by the ruling politicians CO2-emissions are rising -- so we
ourselves are standing up for the climate! To stop lignite extraction is
an important goal on the way to a social-ecological energy transition
and the practical implementation of the idea of food souvereignity.

*Location of the climate camps in the transnational resistance*
The clock is ticking and we need to get active against climate change
immediately. So we get active ourselves. A broad transnational
network of active individuals, groups and organizations has developed,
from which diverse actions, camps, bike tours and conferences arose --
such as this years *climate camp in the Rhineland (19th to 29th of August,**
**2016).* A *summer school on degrowth (19th to 23th of August)* and the
*"Aktionslabor" (action lab) (24.-29.08.)* will take place there,
too.

*Agriculture in the Rhineland -- agriculture and climate*
The connections between the topics climate, extractivism and agriculture
can be easily seen in the Rhineland. Extractivism in the Rhineland
(lignite extraction) doesn't only destroy the climate, but also hundreds
of hectars of loess-ground. Silmutaneously the climate debate doesn't
pay enough attention to the fact that climate change is way more
severely affecting communities if it hits degraded soils, in comparison
to it hitting soils with a good ability to store water and thus lots of
vegetation. Degraded soils in turn are caused by a colonial,
extractivist agriculture in many parts of the global south. Last but not
least, extractivist agriculture is a massive cause of carbon dioxide and
other greenhouse gases. Degraded soils emit just as much carbon dioxide
as the fossil industry each year. Thus the connection of the topics
climate and agriculture makes a lot of sense to us and many others!

**"Agricultural barrio" or "Agriculture Tent" on the climate camp*
 Who likes to bring the topics "agriculture" and "food souveranity" to
the climate camp?
Who likes to create a tent on the topic of agriculture or participate in
the preparation of an
agricultural barrio at the climate camp?
How much the topics agriculture, food souvereignity and climate change
go together at the climate camp and beyond mostly depends on how many
people are interested in participating in the organisation and whether
more ideas are going to come up.

So far there is no group for the organisation.
